Are you disappointed in me for a trading in my Tacoma to get a 4Runner?

Oh there will be some mods all right
They definitely would work in that application, the only, I don't even know if it's considered a downside, would be that the side facing LEDs would be wasted if mounted flush.

I'm thinking mounting on top of the bumper plate. Nowhere to mount them flush anyways, since the square fog light holes have my SS3 Sports (in select yellow) :D

Ahhh yeah they would definitely work in that application. They also have amber covers you can snap on if that would be something you would be interested in

Mmmmmm almost. Caliraised  I got them for a good price, lightly used. I was completely satisfied with their Tundra version so I was hoping / assuming that the Tacoma ones would be good too.

Turn them to a 45 degree angle. That’s how I run mine. I dunno why people mount ditch lights straight forward, that’s not where the ditch is lol

there’s a 120° beam on those lights and you are wasting a bunch of it trying to throw straight forward.

So, I totally understand what you're saying, and expected someone to say exactly what you're saying, BUT, my intention all along has been to maximize how far ahead I can see at night. Even though they are spot pattern they are still plenty wide enough to catch the ditch, not to mention they have the three side facing LEDs which really catch the ditch. When I was initially messing around with positioning I actually put them 100% straight forward to see what it would look like and it still lit up the ditch fairly well. I do have them angled, although if I had to guess I would say it's more like 25° instead of 45°. Like I said, I just kind of set my expectations a little too high. I expected at 3 times the price there would be a substantial and very noticeable difference in output but they only seem to be a bit better. As I said before though I am reserving final judgment because it wasn't the darkest night, there being a full moon and only like 8:45 at night so perhaps with true pitch black they would really shine.
