Are you disappointed in me for a trading in my Tacoma to get a 4Runner?

There are some gusseted spindles for sale not too far away from me for a decent price but damn if that just doesn't sound like too much of a project to swap spindles right now lol

It's really not that hard. I bet you can install them in under 2 hours. When I did my gussets took about 40 min to get both spindles out.

They're really not that bad. You'll just want to make sure you get an alignment when you're done

Sooo, my truck creaking like a hundred year old metal shed is a good thing because it makes people look at my beautiful truck...right? Right?!

That's the Icon RXT leaf spring life. That's the reason they didn't get transferred from my 2018 to my 2020. Just sold them off at a loss.

I guess I'll have to do the Memario fix (bicycle inner tube slices in-between leafs.)

Besides the squeaking though I'm very happy with the amount of lift I got and how well they ride. Right now by far my truck's weak point is washboard. Ass end kicks out super easy at any even kind of moderate speed. Unsure if that is a byproduct of the icons or perhaps I need better rear shocks. Since one of my 5160s is seeping a little I was kind of considering getting the beefy iron Man foam cell pros. They were pretty damn good on my frontier so I was thinking about giving them another shot

Relentless Fab hybrid bumper, 2.5” Dobinsons IMS lift, RCI skids and sliders, block heater. Painted FJ Steelies. Was trying to keep it stock, now slowly building for the Wisconsin trails.
Before going the full inner tube pad route try cleaning between the leaves to see if that helps. I had some bad slow speed squeaks with my stock leaves and a good cleaning fixed it.

That sensation you're getting on the washboard is shock related. Most likely the rebound (shock extension) is a little slow in that situation.

I'm gonna be honest with you, I really appreciate the idea but they were installed for barely any time at all with at worst moderately dirty conditions and they started squeaking immediately, so if cleaning them fixed them, I'd be cleaning them constantly seeing how I'm in the woods at a minimum once a week. Definitely appreciate any and all advice though.
Kinda figured it was something to that effect. Guess I'll deal with it for a bit till I decide on a replacement

Lift the truck with a floor jack and put it on jack stand so your rear wheels are fully extended. Fluid film your springs. Ben put the truck back down. Drive squeak free. Ask me how I know this works.

I will definitely give it a shot although on my first Tacoma that was a very short lived fix.

I tried FF with my RXT's and for me it didn't help long. Tried it on a few occasions, one time I even took the pack apart to make sure everything was saturated. All the FF did is attract more dirt to stick.

It's a shame they squeak, because it's a nice leaf pack outside of that one little thing.

I was thinking some sort of graphite lube perhaps, something that really sticks and doesn't attract dirt.

that what I’ve done one mine. I live on a gravel road so they are always dirty. I must have enough dirt in them that it keeps them from squeaking lol

Yes, that might work better. Wish I new of the paint my grandpa used in his grain wagons on the farm back in the day. It had graphite in it and was really slick and lasted a long time.

Maybe it was this stuff EZ-Slide

But you'd have to break down the pack and paint every leaf.

That would be very much a last resort option, but an option nonetheless.
