Are you disappointed in me for a trading in my Tacoma to get a 4Runner?

Oh there will be some mods all right
Later today I will show you where I'm talking about, and I definitely checked to see if the topper was loose and I can't budge it but when I am hammering down side roads not slowing down for anything I can look in the mirror and see how much of the bed the frame and the topper are all working together to twist all over the place.
Well they should factor that into it! :p

Abuse causes extra wear. Drive like my grandma and it won't happen.

Well I'm going to sue the topper company then because they never told me that I had to drive like a grandma. Now I'm going to be rich and be able to buy multiple Tacomas like other rich people. :D

I've only noticed rubbing on my tailgate so far. I should probably tighten my canopy more often than I do, though.

I think the bedrail caps themselves wear off the paint at their bottom edges due to the added weight and tightening down of the tonneau. My truck had a tonneau cover earlier in its life and it has paint worn in the corners: straight line 3-4" in length. Same thing on the tailgate. I touched them up when I discovered it and applied white first aid tape along the line as a buffer to stop the friction. It has never re-occured (not even a friction mark on the tape). I always assumed it was the plastic caps doing it naturally over time. Now I understand it was the added weight of the tonneau. With no cover on my truck, the issue has not advanced over time.

Dayum that ain't right, looks like a sloppy trim on the fiberglass mold except for maybe that first pic which just looks like a sloppy fit in the mold itself...you could try lifting the cap up off the bed at an angle (rather than taking it all the way off cuz that's a pain) and touch it up with a Dremel to get more clearance, then touch up the paint some before it rusts.

Well, won't be able to tell if retuning fixed all the problems until I drive it after a cold start but so far clearing the learned values and going to regular throttle seems to have been a decent improvement. I suppose it could be in my head but I'm pretty in tune with my vehicles and always have been and after the retune it seems like it has slightly more pep in its step.

Here is a short list of options, not that I'm looking at any of these myself :anonymous:

    Go Fast Camper Topper
    RSI Smart Cap

I came close to going with the smart cap but went with a diamondback switchback. I don’t really need a full canopy for every day and it saved me like $3000 lol

When's the last time you did spark plugs or had your throttle plate cleaned? I just did that the other day on my silver truck and boy howdy does it feel like a new truck
