Are you disappointed in me for a trading in my Tacoma to get a 4Runner?

Well, sticking true to the theme of this build, I think I'm going to go with those shocks that I linked in here a little ways back. I can't find like any reviews of them on a Tacoma whatsoever because they are so new so I will have to be an early adopter. The 5160s just don't cut it for my trail limo and I find it hard to believe that the revised 3D printed bump stops the guy sent me will magically make The rear of the truck as competent as the front (Not sure when I will be able to get them installed seeing as winter is actually here again.) I kind of noticed from day one that the 5160s couldn't quite keep up with the 6112s.

I now and forever maintain this stance: anytime anyone wants me to run something on my truck, pay for it and I will put it on! (besides stupid autozone stuff, keep that away even when free lol) Live valve looks amazing but the price hurts my meow meow

OME MT64s medium load will be going on!!! This winter has been extremely weird but hopefully they are on by the end of next month at the latest. Each time I looked at their design I realized how (on paper) they are exactly what I am looking for in a rear shock.

Well, finally told the discount tire forum rep on Tacomaworld I was ready to pull the trigger on the skinny 33s with the quote they gave me that included the customer satisfaction coupon. Was told I would be receiving a phone call from my discount tire store. Answered the phone and was immediately told that there was a 90 day backorder and there was no guarantee they'd be able to honor the quote when the tires came back in stock. Lol. I immediately went to old reliable (simple tires eBay store) and bought the last 4 they had ( a 2 pack and 2 singles lol) will buy a 5th for the spare from wherever I can find one after making sure all 4 actually show up. Guess Falken didn't realize how popular this size would be.

Ughhhhh first world problems. My eBay order was cancelled and refunded. I guess I shouldn't have waited until tax time to buy the tires.....

That stinks, what exact size you looking for? 255/85/16? AT3 or AT4?

255 85 16 Falken AT4Ws. Until they came out, the only non mud tire was the cooper st max which are stupid expensive

Just did some quick searching because I had time to kill. Looks like most vendors online pulled that size off their site completely. Maybe Falken is having issues with that size or like you said they are just crazy popular right now? Give it a little bit of time, they'll be out there soon.

I'd bet that it's the popularity. There were very few complaints with the AT3Ws (I had them on my Tundra and loved them) and they were cheap when launched. That didn't last long due to demand. The AT4W is supposed to be a better version, and with the record of the previous tire I expect demand was built in.

@LarryDangerfield have you looked at the Nokian Outpost NA as an option? Not sure what sizes they come in, but I like that the NA is made in the US.

I said eff it, placed an order with TireRack. The website said they should become available March 15th. I figure they're a very reputable company so I'm not worried about tossing them some money in advance plus I'd assume being such a large retailer that they'd get stock before other smaller companies. Also, somewhat surprisingly, their price per tire was the best among other retailers so it was a no brainer. Fingers crossed they don't bump the ship date further out, I'll be burning up my winter tires if so lol.
I remember seeing those when they came out. Definitely a nice looking tire but they don't come in 255 85 16 and my heart is set on that size.

Just funny that Discount told him they couldn't get them, but he can order them in advance from Tirerack.

I did not realize the old man emu rear shocks were so beefy that they had their own special mount lol. I just assumed they were bolt on like all other rear shocks but it turns out I have to drill a hole. Not a deal breaker or anything but definitely a surprise
