Are you disappointed in me for a trading in my Tacoma to get a 4Runner?

    @LarryDangerfield I'm from Merrill, originally.
    Don't you ever go out to Harrison Hills to fuck around?
    We use to have party spots out there in H.S.
    Trails and shit to get into all over in that area.

    There and The Underdowns, in between Irma and Gleason, were prime offroad spots.
    Very desolate and wouldn't want to get stuck out there alone. lol

    Don't even need to take your tires off for that. I don't think I jacked my truck up at all, either.

    63° and I'll be getting my pressure washer out of the shed.
    Kwik Trip carwash doesn't cut it when there's mud packed up in there.

    Feels like I'll be picking sod and mud out from there all summer.:D

    Oh there will be some mods all right
    I'm definitely going to remove the tires and put it on jackstands because I'm removing 5160s and adding mt64s. The 5160s have the resi mount (easiest to remove by dropping spare tire) and the mt64s require drilling to mount up the special lower mount.

    Initial thoughts as far as design and installation goes, I of course am not a fan of the special lower mount that is required both because it requires drilling into the vehicle and because it is just an extra step and or complication towards installing rear shocks. Also the right side shock guard looks like it will absolutely get destroyed if I hit a rock with the lowest point. I still need to go give it a test drive and will definitely report back here with hopefully a positive review. Even though the 5160s do not look all that great they actually were still performing just fine (just couldn't keep up with my rowdiness) so anyone in the UP or Wisconsin who wants them let me know and we can figure something out.

    Cross-posted from the Wisconsin thread:

    Preliminary results are in! So far the mt64s are indeed an upgrade from 5160s. They are fantastic on-road and on my railroad tracks that I benchmark suspension changes on they were slightly better on the downhill jump (all four off the ground and then on the ground at roughly the same time) and a fair bit better when going uphill (nose pops up, compresses, rear pops up and compresses, kind of a teeter totter action.) Also, having slightly better shocks combined with the most recent iteration of Perry Parts 3D printed bump stops means that the bottom outs while definitely noticeable were not painfully so in the way that stock was. Obviously there are still A LOT of conditions (like washboard, potholes, hard on the gas on various surfaces, etc) that I still am going to put them through but things are looking good so far.
