Are you disappointed in me for a trading in my Tacoma to get a 4Runner?

Oh there will be some mods all right
So, once in a while the urge to drive like I still own a Miata is too strong. Today was one of those days. And I learned something. When you move the stick over to manual shifting mode and you are winding it out and then you slap the stick forward to go up the gear it won't actually go up a gear until you let off the throttle. Several times I was really winding her out and slapped the stick forward and it didn't do anything and went right up to the red line and then as soon as I let off it would shift. Kind of weird behavior if you ask me but I'm still going to send it.

It won't go up if you're into it because it would then want to go back down because.... You're into it. (Throttle wise)

Yotawerx Blackhawk 2.1 has actual gear lock now. Tested it out driving mine like a GTR.... And boy howdy

I mean, it's been 2 whole years! If you aren't careful, you could wind up without a vehicle payment. (Shudder)

In an automatic, if your throttle is engaged enough (aka, pedal to the metal) it'll want to stay in gear or even downshift to apply that power. So it won't want to shift up if your pedal is pushed waaayyy down.

    It's a limiter. Unless you're running Yotawerx Blackhawk 2.1.

    Then it's a command. Like a sequential shifter :D

So even if the RPMs are at 5800 which is pretty damn close to where it shifts on its own when full throttle and I push the stick forward to go up a gear it still thinks that it should not be shifting?

S mode is not like a manual shift mode. All it does is limit the top gear the transmission will go into. It helps keep the transmission happy when towing, and also can help with engine braking.
