    it's ok to stop.

actually the key is to limit your liquid intake so that you pee break correspond to fuel ups, although it's tough to empty the gas tank without stopping.

Hmmm... Crime happens everywhere to anyone. You almost never need your spare tire. You may avoid construction sites and pot holes, but it's good to have one just in case.
Better to have and not need than need and not have.
How about: when seconds count, help is only minutes away. Or, a cop it too heavy to carry around.
Does that about cover the need for a gun?

Same could be said of road flares/triangles, tire plugs, and extra water.

I would suggest not driving in a convoy, it would really suck for all three of you to wreck at the same time. Wrecks on the interstate tend to involve multiple cars. I'm not saying that you are likely to wreck but If one of you wrecks It could wipe out all your cars and you surely don't want ALL of your friends injured.

I'm not trying to be negative it is just something to think about. I personally will not travel in a convoy. Except in the Army HAHA.

Two way radios are really nice to have. A buddy and I travel together pretty often and both have CB's and we can be a couple miles apart and still communicate easily.

Yes, keep a long following distance and let your CB do the work.
No point in all the cars being wiped out in the first 20 laps of the race;)
