Okay, ridgeline is gay but you test drove a freaking fit????? A coke can on wheels! That thing is a fatality waiting to happen. I put my wife in a Civic and I still worry. I told her she could get a F-250 Superduty turbo diesel after she pays off her civic. Chicks in big ass trucks are hot:cool:

I'm not a big Dodge guy (I have owned one before). I like the look of the Ford and for the nissan, they are not bad. She has got a couple years to go on her Civic so we will see. Oh, and Mike Rowe endorses Ford so thats a huge deal 'cause we both love dirty jobs.

It depends how expensive gas is and how often you fill. Assuming a 10 gallon tank, if your prius was getting 55mpg and your Corolla was getting 37 mpg for every tank, you'd be getting 180 miles extra (550 -370 = 180). 180 miles/37mpg = 4.86 equivalent gallons per tankful. At $4.00 per gallon, 4.86 gallons equals about $19.44 every tankful. $8000/$19.44 = 411 fillups.

So if you fill every week, it would take 7.9 years to break even (411/52=7.9).

Filling your Corolla once a week means you accumulate 19240 miles per year. At 7.9 years, your Prius would have about 151,996 miles on it at break-even. At $5 per gallon, it will take 6.33 years to break even.

It will take longer if the gas price is lower, the hybrid mileage is lower, or you fill up less often. For example, at 50 mpg, $4/gallon, it will take 569 fill ups or 10.9 years with total mileage on the Prius at 209,716, based on 1 fillup per week.

You Know Viper, I just noticed you're in Charleston as well! I was gonna say that I see quite a few of the Ridgelines on the roads around here, but a lot more Tacomas. I just can't believe the price of the Honda!

Thanks for breaking that down! lol I get a headache trying to figure it all out. Either way, it sounds like it would break even about the time to trade it in. :D Guess I'll stick with my gas cars for now.
