I didn't know there even was such a thing as International Men's Day.

BTW, welcome to the forum from Eastern North Carolina. Enjoy your new truck.

I had my car in the shop for some repairs, but before the repairs were done the shop caught on fire and burned to the ground. My car was inside and also was burned up and was totalled by the shop's insurance.

So, in searching for a new vehicle, I began thinking about my current circumstances. I now work from home 100%, so I no longer need something with excellent gas mileage (even though the Tacoma certainly isn't bad). So, I began looking at more functional options than my burnt up Hyundai Elantra.

I thought it might be useful to have a truck in order to easily make trips for lumber to Lowes, pickup furniture for the wife, and for the fun factor! I also realized that it could be helpful to have a truck for helping in my neighborhood, or for helping church members or family who need to haul or pull things, etc, etc...

So, instead of buying a car that really only has one function, me and my wife agreed it would be nice to get a truck instead!

And, I could NOT be happier with the decision.

Welcome to the forum, I see that none of my taco brothers have said this yet so pay close attention! Buy a bed mat and then bury your wallet in the back yard! You can thank me later.

I had no idea what it was called, but "How to chrome delete Tacoma grill ring" wasn't yielding great results!!!

Oh, I couldn't agree more. It's the ONLY complaint I have about the appearance (though it's not as bad in person as it is when I see it in pictures).

Thanks for the reply and sharing you perspective!

Whoa, too bad about the car. However, may be a blessing!

I've been in and out of pick-up trucks since the early 80's. As a kid I always wanted a truck.

You are right, they are very handy for so many things. As a family of 4 with kids we mainly recreate with ours.

You may find having a truck a pain once your family and neighbors come calling all the time.

They are very customizable and addictive to do so. So you may want to watch your wallet! :spending:

    Enjoy!
