    ABS sucks.
Anyone know if there ever was an A-pillar cover available for the first gens that did NOT have the finger-breaking grab handle? Apparently I need one...

    Thanks!

My 6lug prerunner had one, recently swapped for one with a grab handle.
To my knowledge theres no rhyme or reason as to which trucks got a driver side grab handle and which ones didnt

My 01 dbl cab also had the no "oh shit" handle a-pillar. When I swapped it, I got the parts from an 04 extended cab (I think).

Curious just how this handle breaks your Fingers ?? weak fingers?

It would be no problem to remove the handle fill the holes and repaint if you can`t find one.

For the 2001-2004 body style, only the 2001 trucks didn't come with driver handle. Didn't matter if was 5 lug, SR5, Limited or S-runner. It is a direct swap if you wish to change it.

Was just about to comment that my 01 didn't have one, but I wish it did.

I know this an old thread but for those with 95/96 tacomas my 96 didn't have the pillar handles, but when I removed the panel to check for threads both sides had them. Just had to drill into the plastic panel obviously. Easy bolt on for the 95/96 models.

My 2001 DC TRD 4WD had the grab handle only on the passenger side. The driver side had no provision for a grab handle, even though the mountings were there on the A-pillar under the trim panel.
