I've seen a lot of people on here complain about transmission issue, ie:low fluids. But when I read into it, it seems like they're mainly the 6 cylinder guys. Have any of you 4 cylinder guys had any issues with low fluids or transmission problems or howling noises, vibrations? Double Cab or access Cab? I know the vibration and howling noise might not be engine related but I was just wondering.

Had mine checked because of hard 4th gear when cold in the morning. 3 quarts low. It only holds 9.1 quarts.

I have a 4 banger, about 1500 miles with no issues. But I have not had the fliud checked. I would like to get it checked at the 5000 checkup.

WOW. Yeah, I thought it was mostly the tow package v6 guys. I'm setting an appointment this weekend anyways, so I'll find out.

And no. I have no problems with howling, vibrations, or any other issues. I own an Access Cab 4x4.

I have almost 2K on my DCSB 4 cyl SR5 with none of the issues commonly discussed in this forum. I have not had the trans fluid level checked but, no shifting or gear hunting issues at all (I am a former ASE master tech, so I do pay closer attention to these type of things as well). I traded my 2008 access cab 4 cyl with 181K miles for this truck. So far I am 100% happy with the truck and have absolutely NO regrets whatsoever.

I would be curious to know if yours is a 4 cyl 4x2 or 4x4?

No dipstick, but it's still vented. Or it would blow out all of it's seals when it gets hot.

You get the point. No way of checking fluids visually unless you pull plugs.

Almost 9K on mine SR5 4X4 no slipping delays, etc. Haven't had it checked, but no symptoms either.

All is good with my 4 cylinder. Going to ask that they check my transmission fluid on her 6 month check up in a couple weeks. Think I'll let the body shop put a $30 wash and wax on her the same day. Do a one day lease on a RAV4 so I don't have to spend the day at the dealership.

SR5, 4x4, 4cyl, Access Cab, 500 miles no issues yet, but I'm sure beginning to wonder about these rigs. Where's the quality control before they leave the plant ?
