A question to all 1st gen Tacoma owners... What is your dream Tacoma setup? I'm asking this for inspiration. So far it's just a 3-inch lift, 18-inch rims with some all terrains, and maybe a low boost supercharger...

RN I'm running a 3-inch lift on M/T 33s, My Dream setup would be on 35s, Costal plate or trail gear tube front bumper, a rear bumper w/ swing out tire carrier, and some sort of camping set up... ether a soft top or RTT

A simple SAS setup that looks like it came from factory.

jack them up, mod them out, do whatever you want. But you will never get the miles out of the stock will get. My 02 just passed 500K and still gets me to work everyday

Mines slowly getting there, but I think it’s done for a while unless I find a pot of gold. Currently I have a 3rz 5spd ext cab with a 3” lift on 35”s with 5.29s, dual lunchbox lockers and a bobbed bed. If money was no object it would also get a stock width sas, dual arbs or e-lockers, taco box and either rebuild the 3rz with a bit more compression for my elevation, add a turbo or a 2.8l Cummins swap.

    for a commuter I’d like a reg cab 5 lugger with a turbo’d 2rz and 5 speed.

Keeping it exactly factory because they did it right so I try to keep only toyota parts on mine. Only aftermarket thing I have on mine is sway bar end links

My dream first gen would be a double cab, manual swapped. Cummins 2.8 crate motor. Manual hubs. FJ steelies with tall white letter mud terrains. Go Fast Camper. Snorkel. Arb bumpers. Old Man Emu lift. That, or Overland Underbudget's rig! Super cool.

All I want on mine is a frame that's not rotting away. Other than that mines setup pretty much how I always wanted it to be.
