Wix filters are fine, I dont buy oem Toyota filters, I use either Wix or Mobil 1 filters both work fine.

You'd be surprised. The running theory is that the size of the actual molecules is small enough that they can work past the seals, but nothing was ever proven. However, you could run any other oil for 150,000 miles, not have any leaks, put Mobile 1 in, have leaks for 10,000 miles, then put any other oil in, and they stop.

If it's not an issue with the 1GR, then it's not an issue... Though I'm going to run RP.

I use mobile 1 oil and oem filters and have no issues. I've ran R Purple before and it was fine, just seems pricey for long term use.

One reason I want to run RP is that it's decent for heavy duty use, and I'm planning on going down some long trails while it's incredibly hot here, and I just want added protection. I might switch to Catrol or something similar during the winter, just sticking with synthetic overall.

I promise oil does not cause oil leaks. I will not be surprised.

ANY OIL that meets or exceeds the API specification is acceptable. See the Owner's Manual for the API spec.

Filter wise. Suggest to do your own independent research.

    Key factors are:
    media (area and type)
    anti-back flow valve (construction)
filter efficiency (particle size and percentage)
    Construction of the can

Personally, I use WIX, NAPA, Bosch or ACDelco. I steer clear of the orange filters.

And, knock the "5" of any Wix filter, and there's your Napa Gold #!

Without context or asking why, you made a generalization. Good for your astute deductive reasoning skills.
