Hey everyone, I placed an order for my truck a few days ago (TRD Pro 6MT). I'm looking at caps right now and the CX HD seems the way to go because of the roof weight capacity (moving the RTT from my Sportwagen to the truck). Does anyone know the approximate weight of the CX HD and distance between the stock HD crossbars? I've looked all over A.R.E. and can't find the info. Thanks.

I can tell you the website states 3x stronger than the regular cx with the hd skeleton. I can also confirm an rtt will be just fine. The load spacing will come down to which bars you use and what each bars capacity is. For instance a thule aeroblade cross bar may have a rating of 100lb (example not sure on actual weight rating) and such will require 3 bars for a 300lb load. Hope that helps.
I beleive ArE uses thule racks/rails.

Thanks Broccoli. The CX-HD has an optional stock crossbar connected to the skeleton with a rating of 550 lbs. They're not on rails like a "normal" setup. My tent has a max distance of 3ft. Not sure of these are within that range - they look pretty far apart in the photos. Would be nice if A.R.E. provided detailed specs. Any idea what this cap weighs? Trying to calculate payload stuff.

Its the same cap i almost bought for my truck but ended up getting an alucab explorer canopy with a higher payload rating and not mich more. Check them out.
Probably getting the cxhd for my f150 or the snugtop with hd package. Not sure on the distance between bars but im sure there is some adjustability or you may have to mount the tent to some small square tubing to make up the difference. Sorry i cant help anymore than that.

This is what the supplier sent me when I asked the same question about distance between the HD bars on the ARE CX HD . This would be for a short bed truck .Capture.jpg
