Just a thought......I wonder if silicone wax or something similar on the lens would help, since LED's run so cool it wouldn't burn it off.

Drop one of those in your coolant bottle, that’ll do the frosty windshield too.

Run yellow halogen fogs. If it's snowing to the point my headlights are icing, I'm probably running mostly on fogs anyways. Yellow Piaa are amazing for ice and snow

That would probably work, a lot of people on other forums about LEDs icing up use Pam spray, wd40, etc., and say those work too.

Yeah you have to keep cleaning your headlights with LEDs.
I also run covers on my rigid spotlights so they don't ice up and can be cleaned easier.

Jeeps have the advantage of standardized interchangable headlight design. Like I mentiomed earlier, no such LED product exists for the Tacoma. You will have better lighting performance with HID or halogen anyway.

I don't care what you put on it...ice will just freeze and bridge over it.
Something like Pam might help for brief periods but nothing will help for a several hour drive in the heavy snow and ice.
For the record my headlights were waxed a few weeks ago and the truck has only been sprayed off, not washed, since. It did no good lol.

This is why I only have lows as LED and highs are still halogen, Run them once in a while keeps the headlights warm

What am I missing here? Why, if you live or drive in winter weather would you go out of your way to use the LED? Believe it or not, I am not trying to be a smart ass. I would think is you could fix a serious life threatening problem as easy as changing a light bulb then why would you build a distillery or send your wife out in the cold every 40 miles or etc. I guess I am missing something.

Truck Lights are one of the few companies that make a head light assembly that has heat filaments in the lens to melt snow/ice.

Installing LED bulbs into any head light assemblies that are designed for halogen bulbs, will ice up.

This thread was started to be a PSA for people who read about LEDs and think they are a great headlight solution. Maybe a new owner who does not know much about headlights but thinks that white light is cool.
    Education.
