Hey guys, hope everyone is doing well. Finally starting to settle into the taco community a little bit, and all seems to be going well so far. I recently bought my truck around a week ago, and am starting to get things together for maintenance which needs to be done, since the truck has 76k. I was thinking differentials, transfer case, transmission, and a PS system flush (via return hose disconnect). Things such as oil, air filter, cabin air filter, and brake fluid have been done recently, so that's all I think I should do for the time being, but please chime in if I'm forgetting anything. Anyways, Diff and T case drain and fills seem pretty straightforward, but I am a little confused about the transmission drain and fill procedure. I hear that there is a drain plug, a check plug on the bottom of the pan, and a fill plug somewhere. I wanted to know how much fluid I should order for a simple drain and fill, would 4 qts be enough? I've also heard about jumping two pins on the OBDII port is part of this, is this necessary to do, or is this supposedly just to check the level or temperature or something? I would really appreciate if someone could clarify and please explain how a normal drain and fill would go on a 3rd gen. I find it annoying that the 3rd gens don't come with tranny dipsticks anymore, since my 1st gen tundra had one and it seemed like a no brainer thing to have.

Also have another question, but I also plan on buying an extra two quarts of ATF to flush the power steering fluid, via disconnecting the return line, placing it in a jug, jacking the wheels with engine off, turning the wheels, and adding fluid until the fluid coming out of the return line is clean. Is this method doable on a third gen? I did so on my first gen tundra with no issues. Will 2 qts be enough? Thanks for your attention, and thanks in advance for your help!
