    Well, my father has been very sick for about 4 years now. It started when he had a heart attack playing golf in Florida. He was transferred to a local hospital in a helicopter and underwent a quadruple bypass the next day. He was doing pretty good for a while, but was having trouble with one lung. Turned out to be lung cancer. He somehow convinced the doc's to operate on him(he was 82 at the time and very strong willed). That was 2 years ago, and was the beginning of the end. He has been going downhill ever since and now weighs about 90 lbs. 2 days ago he was having trouble breathing and was rushed into the hospital. He has double pneumonia and is going to be placed on a respirator today. In all reality, he probably will not make it. I've been readying myself for this for a while now. His name is Earl. Here's a picture from just before the heart attack. Thanks all. (He's the one with the hair:))

    I feel for ya. My Dad died just over 2 years ago. He was only 65. Heart attack, which led to finding cancer in his lung as well. By the time all the tests came back the cancer went stage 4.

    It's rough, but being there for him will help both of you alot.
