How am I supposed to respond, when I can't see the keyboard? That was touching. Let's me believe that there is some hope for this country. Thank you to all that serve.

That was really nice. I was on the Honor Guard down in South eastern Arizona earlier this year and much of last year. It is truly nice when you see people take time out of their day to pay tribute to fallen soldiers. You can really see the difference in the families when you see that they know the community is grateful for what their love one did.

Not to jack this thread, and I am not trying to start anything here I just think people need to know, especially people from Tucson, AZ. But Tucson Police Department will not do a funeral procession escort for active duty fallen service members. The family has to pay out of pocket to hire either the DPS or Southwestern Rangers. They claim it is to stand out of politics but I think it is a cop out.

Thanks for that. Reminds me of the procession for my friend Skippy in SC a few years ago. He was a vet as well and everyone along the route stopped and saluted or put their hand over their heart the whole time. No where NEAR as many people as in this video, but I've never seen any such display of respect here in NY. :(

Very touching video. Everyone definitely should watch this. I was in the honor guard for 4 months at the beginning of this year and I had the privilege of escorting a fallen Airman from the airport to the funeral home. It was truly an honor and a day I will never forget. Ever.

Here is the info about his story. I am from that area & recognized all the roads they traveled. I wish I would have known about it. I would have joined the masses.

A true Welcome Home to a HERO.

Killed in action the week before, the body of
Sergeant First Class John C. Beale was returned to Falcon Field in Peachtree City, Georgia, just south of Atlanta, on June 11, 2009.

The Henry County Police Department escorted the procession to the funeral home in McDonough , Georgia . A simple notice in local papers indicated the road route to be taken and the approximate time.

Nowadays one can be led to believe that America no longer respects honor and no longer honors sacrifice outside the military. Be it known that there are many places in this land where people still recognize the courage and impact of total self-sacrifice. Georgia remains one of those graceful places. The link below is a short travelogue of that day's remarkable
and painful journey. But only watch this if you wish to have some of your faith in people restored.

these are truly sobering experiences. Some firefighters may know these two names. i personally knew the ladies mom. Robin Broxterman and Brian Schira. The 2 firefighters killed last year in my town. the fire academy and police academy was all let out of school to go down to the funeral. we stood right next to the church and as the fire engines came down with their caskets in the back, everyone was crying. even a guy that never shed an ounce of pain was tearing up. This clip was great. im passing it on to firends and family. This soldier died protecting our country we should continue to show our support towards our men and women over there.

To the men and women over seas, i cant thank you all enough. keep up the hard work!

    Aaron
