Any recommendations for AAL for towing 4,500lb TT? Have 3rd gen Taco. Already have Andersen Hitch, just figured some upgraded leafs would help because stock leafs are garbage. Thanks

I added Hellwig helper springs EZ990. My tongue wt is around 400 pulling 3250. My rear leafs were saggin but the Hellwig levels the rear when under load. When empty it has the same rear lift as stock. Ride and handling are good both loaded and no load. Easy install.

I use Roadmaster suspension. Works great and provides better ride even when not towing or hauling. I tow a Grand Design 17MKE.

20200801_105836.jpg 20200801_112619.jpg The Roadmaster Active Suspension works great! I had Firestone airbags before and they definitely kept the truck level when towing, but they did nothing for the handling when empty.

1+ for the Roadmaster Active Suspension. Besides towing, it took care of a lot of the annoying problems with the Taco suspension...drivers side lean, sagging under load, and axle wrap up.

How are you guys going about cargo loads? I have a cargo load of 1050lbs but here’s what I came up with and please tell me if this is wrong or not. Myself, wife, 2 kids and small dog are roughly 590, my tongue weight is 340-400lbs and hitch is another 50lbs so does that mean I only have 10 pounds of cargo left? Will deaver heavy duty leaf springs help with cargo?

I have those too and mine rides nicer when empty. Not as bouncy going over bumps. I highly recommend them for towing.

Do you say what these springs are called. Make? Sorry if I missed that information.

They're called Roadmaster Active Suspension. There's really nothing else like it on the market.

Those look awesome. Looks like you have 5100's installed, do you have an AAL in addition to the Roadmaster kit? given your recommendation I assume they further enhance your upgraded suspension.

I ask because I want to lift my truck for better tire clearance and ride quality. However I will also be towing our TT, so i am looking for the optimal setup to achieve the lift I need, reduce the rear sag and improve the ride while towing.

    Thanks for your input.

I did not do the AAL when I did my Roadmasters. I have stock OR shocks on mine.

I don't think the Roadmaster is supposed to be used with a lift. If you're getting a lift anyway, just get springs that are made for the load you're anticipating, and the height you want.
