I have 3 leaf springs and an overload. so 4 in total. how do I tell if one of the leaf springs is a AAL, TSB, or came stock?

Easy, if the springs are broken- they are factory Toyota parts!

If they are not broken, they are replacement springs or factory springs on the verge of breaking.

Hahahahahah. I love that part. There not broke. I bought the truck with all 4 leafs there. I bought it used. I wana raise the rear 1" and I'm not sure if I should put another leaf in it to make it 5, or if I just get a 1" block? I don't do any Heavy hauling or anything.

I'm sure others will chime in, but here's my $.02 worth.
The factory Toyota leaf springs are prone to break but you don't know if you have factory springs or not. I'm not a fan of spacers but if you were to go to the trouble of installing spacer blocks you would be performing about 50% of the labor needed to replace the springs - so why not just replace the springs?
I had a broken leaf and elected to install replacements from General Spring. I used the standard replacement springs but they do make a heavy duty set that would likely give you that 1" you're looking for. They were a great company to deal with. I'd suggest giving them a call to see if the heavy duty set would give you the lift you're looking for and if so, just replace the springs.

By the way, the leafs tend to break right at the spring bolt in the center of the saddle, between the U-bolts.

I noticed you're in NY. If your truck has some age on it I suspect there will be some rust as well. If the U-bolts have been on there since the truck was built they're likely frozen with rust. That could be a clue to the question of replacement. My truck is 10 years old and came from PA. The U-bolts had to be cut off, so If you go the replacement route, just order hardware when you order the springs.

    Good Luck

Call a Toyota dealer and give them the VIN. If you have the TSB, this would've been installed by a toyota dealer (if it were done under warranty). They might have a record of it in their database.

Look at the leaf springs - each individual leaf. If all of them are of the same thickness, width, and look the same, chances are....You probably have the TSB (3 leafs/overload).

If ONE of the leafs is thinner and/or just looks different from the rest - you probably have an AAL.

Does your truck have a LIFT??

    Got any pictures?
