Trying to educate myself on technical suspension info before pulling the trigger on anything, and I have some questions about the rear leaf add a link:

    - AAL is essentially what is described, right? Keeping the existing leaf springs and adding more leafs?
    - I'm looking to add some lift, and this is one way to achieve that, right? (as opposed to spacer blocks). How does it add lift if you are keeping the original springs and adding more?
    - I've read that it can help increase the load-carrying capacity in the bed. I've also heard that it can improve the ride. They seem counter to each other. Are both statements typically true? Or maybe it's more the shocks that are changed at the same time that improve the ride?

If there is a good thread in this section on AAL let me know. Thanks!

    -Yes
-Yes, even just by installing the AAL, it pushes the axle further down creating lift. But the extra load capacity means the truck will naturally sit higher. Most AAL create 1-1.5" of lift.
-No, nothing changes payload. But it does behave better with more load on the truck.

They aren't perfect, but I like the idea of using the leaf pack that I already paid for.

I'd only recommend it if you plan on having load in the bed often or towing. Unloaded it can ride fairly rough for some.

There are 2 options. The 3 leaf aal increases height mainly by adding more leafs and pushing the axle down. The single leaf aal recurves you leaf pack to make it bow more to get the lift. I got the @HeadStrong Off-Road 3 leaf aal. Less cutting required.
