AAL Spring sag on 2015?!?

Spoke to the shop who did my lift today and told them what I was carrying:

Shell, camping gear, North Shore bike rack with four mountain bikes. My full suspension Specialized Enduro, my wife's full suspension Specialized Enduro and two kids bikes = sag.

Shop says load it up with all my gear and they will adjust the arc in the AAL until the truck is level, which is what I think I want...BUT will that give me a ridiculous amount of rake when unloaded and without a shell?

 

what's the total weights?

 

With a stock leaf pack and what I assume is 350 lbs or so it would be probably an inch or inch and a half, but just a guess.

 

Seriously?!? Lmao. I don't know...I'm told my shell weighs 180lbs, bikes and bike rack weigh about 170lbs camping gear probably weighs about....I'm guessing at best...250lbs. It's two coolers, four chairs, portable BBQ, two burner stove, four sleeping bags, four duffel bags of clothes, dishes, groceries for four for a week - we're all pretty fit so I'm not packing a truck load of food...that's about it really.

 

I should have taken some measurements when it was loaded up. Ugh.

 

I think you have a 4 leaf pack so it could be less. My 3 leaf blew ass.

 

I do have a 4 leaf pack and a .5" AAL with the over load still in the mix.

 

Could you approximate that weight load with your people in the bed? Then you could measure and see the sag now when loaded and I assume you could add that number to the unloaded height and be in the ballpark.

 

Approx 430lbs of people weight.

 

I should load it up with the camping gear, bikes, wife and kids and go to a weigh station.

 

I'm thinking I might be wasting my time with this AAL. I should probably just get the Dakar springs and call it a day.

 

$250 to have the arc in my AAL reset or ~$900 for the Dakar springs with install and taxes.

$500 in parts and maybe 2 hours to install with basic tools!

 

Lol. Canada remember...$688.08 + 12% tax = $770.64 for the springs and bushings and 2 Hours X $90/hour = $180 + 12% tax = $201. For a grand total of $971.

 

...so I was off by $71.

 

If our $ didn't suck ass I would order them from the company you recommended but our $ is shit so that's a no go.
