Aal

I'm thinking about doing a aal to my truck, after doing some research I am still unable to figure out how to go about removing the 2 clamps that hold the leafs together. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

It depends on what AAL you get, some install between the overload and the rest, so you don't have to pry open the clamps.

 

yeah but don't get that one, get the long ones that goes under the main leaf. and wht type of clamps do you have. if you have the ones that wrap around the leaf pack but the ends don't come together( looks kind of like a "c" shape) then you can heat them up a little and bend the tabs straight and they should pop right off. then when you get it back together you can just bent it back over.

 

this is the kind I have, it wrap around all leaves except the overload. It does not close all the way up and the clamp is riveted together. So I take it that the best type of aal is a long leaf setup?

 

yeah the long ones are the way to go, they hold up longer and increase your payload.

 

any recommendations? I dont want much of a lift, at the most 1-1.5 inches. I just want them mainly to increase payload and decrease axle warp.

 

i'd check out the ones from wheelersoffroad.com or from toytec, and if you go with the toytec ones you get a discount for being from this forum. they both sell 1.5" aal also.
