Hello: Running into some confusion and was hoping someone might be able to shed a little light on this. Currently have: Tacoma 2011, 4 door, 4x4. Front has 2" spacers. The rear of the truck sits just slightly lower than the front, not a huge issue.

I am looking for way to help the rear of the truck. We haul a 20', 4,000 camper as well as a utility trailer. The camper uses a weight distribution hitch and works great. However the utility doesn't. I need a little more strength in the rear of the truck and have been looking at AAL's but got lost quickly.

    Specifically: https://bilsteinlifts.com/shop/toyota-tacoma/2005-2015/rear-lifts-05-15/toytec-progressive-mini-leaf-add-a-leaf-for-2005-toyota-tacoma/

Mechanic is asking me: Do these AAL's require dissembling the existing leafs or do they bolt on with existing leafs? Do I need a different shock in the rear (stock) for height? If so, can you recommend one, I have seen in many posts the Bilistein 5100 series but I am unsure on what to get?

I am also not opposed to removing the front 2" spacers and replacing those shocks with a Bilistein that can do the same thing as the spacer in regards to height. Maybe now is the time do it all? In short, if I have to lift 2" all the way around, I am fine with that.

Any help would be appreciated for the AAL's. Main goal is to add a stronger rear end for hauling trailers and load in bed. Works now, but does sag.

    Thank you

do yourself a favor. Buy a full leaf pack. new Dakar HD packs sound like they would fit your needs well.

Thank you. My only concern was, the leaf springs are less than 4 months old, factory warranty replacement. Otherwise I was considering doing just that, buying an entire pack but didn't want to throw away something that has less than 5,000 miles on it. With that being known, do you still recommend a full replacement?

Ok thank you everyone. Knew I would get the right answer here. So a full pack is what I need and will try to sell the current springs with 5,000 miles on them. Second part, do I need to change the rear shocks with the new spring pack?

Idealy yes. OME makes some good shocks to pair with the dakars, but others have no issue running 5100's
