Just like the title says. I always find this kind of stuff interesting. Hell, it's weird for me to think about the old Target up the street that's been abandoned for 5 or so years. Makes me want to explore and find something that's been forgotten.

Cool thread. Whenever I travelled in the military I would always end up at a closed post. I stayed at Fort Dix after it was closed but before it became a mob site. My TDY quarters were in a old abandoned Signal Battalion. There were still plaques up in the orderly room, tables still in the dining facility  spooky. Also, Ft. McClennan in Anniston, AL has a neat pet cemetary, horse stables, and basic training areas with nobody home. The golf course still is pretty darn busy.

    For non military...www.deadmalls.com.

There's a whole abandoned town at the west end of LAX - I think you can see it on Google Earth.

There's an abandoned clinic/doctors office on long island somewhere that a friend took me too. Wandering through in the middle of the night with head lamps only was freaky. Medical facilities are by far one of the most messed up places once they're abandoned. To much weird crap to let the imagination wander.

When I was 7 y/o, I lived in Key Largo, FL. I remember a big resort/hotel that was abandoned. It always intrigued me and gave me the creeps at the same time. My dad used to take me and my siblings to the docks near it to fish. It was kind of hidden away in a cove. Wish I knew the name or had pictures.

My favorite is the base near VA beach. Abandoned but I still got over to some missile launch sites and it was AWESOME

By the way I have snuck in and traversed 3 miles of underground steam tunnels under my campus. It is exhilarating and I have tons of pics if you all want to see them

I was in this place called Monida, MT yesterday. The epitome of a ghost town. I should've taken pictures.
