Abilene / Dyess TX

I saw this thread and had to say hello. My Daughter and granddaughter live in Abilene. My daughter works at the Lowes in town. (assuming there is only one Lowes in Abilene) Hopefully next summer I will be able to go out and visit them. If you guys have a meet that week I am there I'd love to bring Lil Beast with me.

 

it was a little muddy and i will admit i was playin in the mud that was just on the trails. the lake patrol guy wrote on the ticket that i was in the lake bed which i felt was inaccurate because i wasnt in the water in the lake, but whatever. the only reason he was able to give me that ticket was because i was stopped trying to help my friend in a jeep that was stuck. i am deployed right now so it will be a little while before i am back.

 

You don't have to be in the water itself to be considered in a lake bed. Anywhere that is surveyed as where the water table is expected would be considered being in the "lake bed". Guy could have given you a break since you were trying to help your friend out.

 

i understand the not having to be in the actual lake to be considered the "lake bed" but they only ticket you if you are driving in the mud. they dont care if you are driving the trails or fishing even though the trails are technically on the "lake bed." anyways i just accepted my fate and moved on and now i look for other places to go off road.

 

Sucks what happened with the ticket ammo. I know of a place called texanna ranch about an hour away inbetween abilene and San Angelo. it's also a hunting ranch though so sadly it's closed to us until the season is over. I've never been and from youtube it doesn't look like much but its a place too legally wheel. If we could get a group to go down there I would Definantly be in, I'd even be down to go out to katemcy rocks if I had people to go with.

 

Saw a silver access cab tacoma flipped over outside quail hollow tonight. Anybody know who that was?
