I heard of a few with the chirps returning, they indicated the actuator arm was not replaced with the pump. Keep an ear on it! Best wishes.

mine was replaced and the chirp came back. no actuator arm was replaced on mine. I have to run chevron 89 octane or better. all other gas chirps. the detergents and additives they used quiet the chirp so you cant hear it in the cab or windows down. If I run Arco gas the thing sounds like a pully is gonna fall off

Same here. Non-ethanol fuel has eliminated the chirp for me. 87 Octane at Chevron.
Otherwise, very loud chirping. Toyota Master Tech indicated it was "Normal", that it would likely come back if replaced, and the FR-S's had it. None of that's a great reason...I mean excuse.

Nice I've had trouble with this issue, service center says it's normal, I'm glad you got yours fixed.

Also, I noticed this sticker on the door sill and peeled it off. Why does this replacement fuel pump assembly/installation reduce 4 pounds of carrying capacity?
For those who had their fuel pump replaced,, do you have this too?

The sticker is an update, I don't know why they did it during a fuel pump replacement but my dealer placed that sticker in my door after a TSB for the transmission was applied.

I just noticed mine... WTF...12 lbs!

I assume it's been there since I bought it since I haven't had the dealership add anything.

Is this noise I have what you guys are referring to? You can hear it speed up and slow down with the engine. It almost sounds like a ticking. Sounds like I have a freaking turbo diesel. My phone was resting on the driver front tire in the dark in this video.

No, that sounds like the Atkinson cycle crap. The chirping fuel pump can be heard on TacoFister's youtube video known as chirping tacoma video prior to having pump replaced. Sounds similar to a loose engine belt.

Just got a case opened for fuel pump chirp. Not sure if anything will happen. The service rep said Toyota is getting inundated with complaints. He thinks they may eventually do something about it. I am not convinced.

I've basically come to the conclusion this truck will only drive without vibrations and chirps when I use premium fuel or a good ethanol free 87 and add detergents (I have good access to E0 but it's all unbranded). Lately when running V-Power it purrs and the whacky vibes are pretty much gone. Wish I'd have known that when buying but it is what t is...

Edit, apparently the fuel was a temporary fix and it "Relearns" the vibes too... after a couple of tanks of VPower (93), the vibes and chirps returned. I have a case open.

Still no ones officially where the chirp comes from... still a mystery

It's like my taco is sending Morse code to other tacos

This happened on my FRS. It happened for like 3 years before Toyota came out with a TSB for it. I have the chirp on my Tacoma now, and I fully expect them to tell me that it "is operating as engineered", just like every other problem I have.

If you read the past posts, specially mine. I had the High Pressure fuel pump changed out. I am at almost 20k miles and still no chirp. I run whatever gas is on this shit island.
