Well folks. I'm in Arizona, on my way to Alaska from Florida. I've got a couple thousand miles and still no chirp after the high pressure fuel pump fix. I'd take yours down to the dealer and have them look at it.

Good to know. My dealership told me that it it wasn't their problem (which Toyota Corporate was less than impressed to hear about). I'm in the process of working through a claim to get it fixed.

Out of curiosity, what dealership did your work, just in case I need to cite an actual case that was resolved?

Thank you, sir. Field Tech is looking at mine on the 28th. Corporate has been great to deal with so far. Wish I could say the same for the dealership...

Dropped off mine this morning to have the chirp investigated. I also included that I wanted the trans fluid checked and to have them look at the moonroof (slight leak noticed during car wash). Well the service person took my key and went out to move the truck. When she came back in she said there was a warning light on (didn't specify what light). It wasn't on when I pulled in, and I honestly thought maybe she just didn't understand the newer dash configuration or something. I figured it's their job to figure it out anyway. My wife and I went to breakfast and about 20 minutes later she called me and asked, "is one of the problems you're having that you can't get it to move? Like you have the e-brake on?" Um, no! Ugh. I may have bigger issues, or these people are idiots. :annoyed:If I do have a bigger issue at least it happened at the dealer.

At least you don't have to worry about them not being able to replicate the problem, since they seem to have caused it.

So, here's the good & the bad from my truck today. Couldn't pick it up until the service managers were gone. No major issue - stupid lady who checked me in put the damn thing in 4 wheel drive! smh!:boom:20160622_181520.jpg

It appears they checked the trans fluid properly, but I'll probably look into checking it myself anyway just to be sure. As far as this thread title and the main reason I took the truck in, they did nothing and attributed it to "fuel injection tick", which it is not (I know the difference), and after a lot of research I am about 90% sure it's the high pressure fuel pump. They attached the following "tech tip" to my paperwork. I'll be bringing it back in, possibly to a different dealer (although that's 30 miles away) when I get a chance. Chirping just the same when I got it home.

Right. Ticking is fine. Chirping like what I have is the High pressure fuel pump. When in doubt, take it to another dealer

I have a 2016 TRD OR with 6000 miles. I had the chirping since I first got the truck. Just now I went to have a good look, and I see that the idler pully up high on drivers side has a wobble. Definitely the chirp is coming from here. I checked that the bolt for the pulley was tight, and it is. I guess I'll have them work on that at the 10000 mile service. I'm half tempted to just replace the damn thing myself, the dealer is about 80 miles away. I guess I'll look up the price. I'd like them to take care of it, but I'm not spending half a day or more to get it taken care of by itself.

Went through a drive thru on the way home to get some food after work and noticed it sounded like a bunch of crickets outside my truck when I had my window rolled down.

Yet another issue to add to the list....I would have thought they had learned a lesson or two with the Scion's having this problem. :annoyed:
