I'm curious about back spacing on wheels. I have 31/10.50/15 cooper discoverer S/T's on stock suspension. I want a wider stance but I want to know if there are any risks/ things to consider about lower backspaced wheels. Thanks y'all's bunches :D

How much BS are you talking about?

Usually, as you move the wheel center outboard, you increase the potential for a tire rub on the pinch weld, the area behind the mud flap. However, 31's on stock may not be an issue. Especially if it is only on the street.

Now if your front coils are sagging a bit and you are planning on flexing out on a trail, then you may see rubbing...depending on how much you increase the backspacing over stock.

I've run 265/75r16s on 16x8 rims with 4" BS and had no issues of rubbing on the pinch weld. (That was with an OME lift.) 4" BS is as low as I've gone though.

Thanks you guys, my suspension is looking tired so I'm gonna opt to upgrade that first. Thanks for the info though!
