I had someone jump out in front of the truck. Based on the angle and distance he jumped out at the collision avoidance system didn't seem to react. Has anyone asked Toyota to give them the collision data from their own vehicle in situations like this?

I’m guessing you weren’t going fast enough or you handled it, though it seemed close, and tss had your back. No I have never asked for data

It works with boxes. Or it doesn’t. I can’t remember. Don’t worry about it, just don’t hit anyone.

Where I live the pedestrian ALWAYS has the right of way, crosswalk or no! Surprised we don't have more incidents of intentional jumpers.
You are referring to the "Flight Data Recorder"? There was a case in court regarding the use of the data on the recorder.

Hi, sorry, did I mention this happened in Seattle? I have video of the man admitting he jumped out in front of me. Police and medics showed up later. I shook hands with the guy involved in the collision. He seems to be severely depressed. Thanks for the condescension.

IT WAS NOT INTENTIONAL! I believe pedestrians should be liable (at least partially) for there own safety. That means they should look both ways before stepping out and jumpers be damned!
I could say "Thanks for the assumption" but I'll hold that comment.:D

Good to hear about the 7mph limit. I was going slow through the intersection so that's probably why I didn't get a TSS warning.

In the old days the car had the right away . If you heard a Road Runner or a GTO coming you didn't step out , no one was that dumb . The bigger louder faster the more it had the right away .

Based on the way this guy looked I thought for sure he was trying to get an insurance payout. The intersection it happened at is a block from one of the city's sanctioned homeless camps.
