You got good taste man! The Tom Sachs general purpose shoe you're wearing is kinda like the Tacoma of shoes. Perfect for all around every day use and very high quality!

I have never wanted a Pro. Or this color. This thread kind of changes that :spending:

265/70/16 is the stock size. Doesn't look like they have been swapped (yet).

My Pro arrives next week. I have a set of 265/75/16 duratracs paid for and waiting at discount tire.
Will drive straight from dealer to tire shop.
Then to my shop for all the other little things.

It will be well worth the flight and drive back. Love my manual Tacoma, albeit it ain't as crisp like a Porsche 911, it is the best stick I've driven in trucks ranging from Rangers, F-150s, Explorer 2 doors. Be sure to keep us all posted and def post pictures!

I did the same in June. One way to Denver and drove it back to SoCal. Through the Rockies, small detour through Zion, Vegas then home.

    You’ll love the ride. Enjoy.

They look bigger than the ones that came on my truck. Wish they’d put 33s stock on for the Pro.

This is a very nice shifting trans in my opinion compared to the 2nd gen manual which I sold for my 3rd gen 22Pro. My main issue lies in the long throws. So that being said @milesbeyond , if you are going to do any worth while mods. Do yourself the favor and look into a short shifter. B&M and core shifters both make a good one. I myself have a core shifter. Very easy install. Having a short shifter makes our manuals even better to drive. Trust me.

I bought mine from a dealer in New Mexico. Did the whole deal over the computer and text. I had them ship it to me to Chicago.

Oh, you mean these old used cars sandwiching this shiny brand new Corolla Cross?

But actually - when my sales guy was picking me up from the airport he told me they had TWO LFAs and I damn near crapped my pants. They had to move them around and the manager revved both of them. My god, I’ve never heard anything like it.

They also had a red GR Corolla. So cool.

Fellow sneaker head! Thanks man! It’s my favorite release from last year. I’m mainly an Air Max dad shoe kinda guy and these are literally the perfect shoe for me. Wearing them like Tom Sachs intended.

Sorry for the lack of updates on the drive. I drove to the Golden Gate Bridge Vista Point to snap a few photos but then had to take some work calls and then tinkered with settings for the long drive. Because of that I connected back to I-5 around Davis for a quick In’NOut stop (always love it but honestly…I think after living in Seattle for 16 years I’m more of a Dick’s Deluxe fan) and bio break, and my first fill up in Weed. Really wanted to get past Shasta before I parked for the night and made it into Medford around 8. Gives me a bunch more relaxing drive back home. If I wasn’t up at 4am the night before I probably would have powered through a little more.

Still haven’t stalled it! I will say I don’t mind the transmission or the throws. I think I’m just happy to be in a stick again. Need to practice my heel-toe some more but honestly like a lot of people said - this is not a fast car. It’s a truck, it shifts like a truck, it drives like a truck. And even for a truck, it is not fast (though it looks kinda fast with the paint) This isn’t a commuter car for me nor the comfortable car for our family so its bar for comfort or speed or pickup is going to be very low.

Thankfully no major gross highway driving things yet. A bird decided to dump on me but thankfully it landed on the windshield right as I was pulling off into Davis. So wiped it away immediately. Kept my distance behind big trucks so knock on wood, I can keep avoiding things.

I will say I do miss smart entry. Knowing other manuals have it I wish it was on here but I think honestly it’ll be fine because I hang my keys on my belt loop so they’re always easily accessible. I just don’t have them on now so I’m carrying my key in my pocket.

I need to scroll through the cheap mods thread again. Definitely some minor things like putting something on the volume and tuning knob - they’re just so small and smooth. Also I think there’s a cup holder mod? They seem really shallow to me so need some depth. Need an iPhone mount but doesn’t seem to be a good spot for my XS Max without it protruding a ton at the top of the dash. I don’t like covering the vents otherwise that’d be the perfect spot. LED interior lights are another one I want to do.

Aside from that, the seating position was super easy to get comfortable for me. I had read a lot about people struggling to get comfy but it was super easy for me and being in the car for 7-8 hours yesterday was totally fine.

I likely won’t do any mechanical mods for a while. I’m not a huge modified guy anyway and I’m also too cheap to swap out perfectly new (albeit not my favorite) tires for another set just yet. Plus aesthetically it’s just so beautiful to look at the way it is. If I had an OR I’m sure I’d want to do a couple things sooner than later but with the Pro it’s just so nice the way it is.

I’m up super early still (habit with two little kids) but looking forward to more driving today!!
