Please excuse the thread revival but I've been experiencing a similar problem after a similar suspension upgrade.

I did OME 885's with top plate spacers from ToyTec (total of 2.5" lift up front), Camburg uniball UCA's, and 1.25" spidertraxx hub-centric wheel spacers. No problems until noticing something weird yesterday. Alignment has always been good, made sure my 33" BFG's cleared after doing the cab mount chop, no issues.

Yesterday when driving under similar conditions that the OP described, in the apex of the turn I was in at speed (I was pushing it; about 35-40mph in a tight turn), there was two brief "braking" periods (half a second tops each), accompanied by some nasty grinding from the front, left of the truck (right hand turn).

Same thing happened when getting a little sideways in the mud today.

Both times there was no beeping. I didn't look at the instrument cluster as it was happening because I was more focused on maneuvering.

    Thoughts?

So get ready for a revival but I have a 2012 Tacoma sr5 4x4 before I lifted it the only time my abs would kick on is when my truck would find whoops on the freeway and jump up and down like I had soft springs and shocks I would be able to take turns like a sports car and no problem whatsoever and now I lifted my truck 3 inches and I can take a turn cruising and my abs would kick on no beeping or anything my truck would start braking has anybody else had this problem before?

I believe my issue is a traction control issue as I have no beeping while it’s happening....

The new ABS wiring did the trick! The cable was not completely broken, but corroded enough to spoof the ABS. I now have it happing on the left side. Salt and corrosion knows no limit in Maryland. Once again, its when I go over speed bumps or such that cause the ABS to slightly work. No pullling or such - just the noise of the pump starting up.

5.5 lift front 4 rear on 33s with an endless amount more work to do
So I have seen a number of things cause this issue. The most common culprit is bad suspension. Either to stiff of springs or completely worn out struts/shocks. There maybe another issue (wheel bearing, abs wire, tire wear. But all of these issues stem from suspension. To stiff of a spring or a worn strut/shock will cause the tire to skip and cause false abs/vsc activation. And that same suspension issue causes excessive accelerated wear on suspension and drive train parts. The spring issue get better over time with new springs and worse with old springs

Yeah I’ve done the recalibration a few times, same results, no worn out parts, I did just zero in my camber so maybe that’ll help. It was about 3* off, now it’s 0. I’ll try recalibration again.

I also maxed out caster, anyone know if that helps?

I don’t have a sway bar, and I really don’t want to remove my lift! Lol

I agree a switch sounds better than removing a fuse. Are there any write up on the switch?

Back to the top to add more info for other users (like myself) to find.

My original setup: 2.5" lift, 650lbin front springs with SPC UCAs and no sway bar. So there is considerable roll to this vehicle, but I want compliance for dirt and crawling.

My Scenario: I first noticed the truck go into "ice mode" on my trek up to Big Bear. There are lots of tight turns and elevation changes which, even going uphill, would activate VSC/ABS and cause the truck to understeer uncontrollably. I race front wheel drive cars and this scared the shit out of me. After the first incident I pulled the fuse and visually inspected the sensors. Nothing seemed out of place or damaged so I worked on trying to replicate the scenario. I successfully did so on my morning commute. If the VSC was turned off, it would not activate. Knowing the wheel speed sensors usually drive this, I went back and inspected the wires again, but this time on a lift. Sure enough, with the suspension at full droop and the ABS line in the provided clip on the control arm, the wire was tight. Presuming the damage wasn't permanent, I opted to remove the SPC UCA's in favor of Dirt King tubular units. Immediately, you could see there was much more slack available in the line. This drastically reduced the ability to replicate the problem but it still rears its ugly face from time to time, which leads me here.

Before I go and drop $100 on new sensor wires, I wanted to see if there were any TSB's or possible sensors/fixes that may cause /eliminate this problem.
