I'm installing a line lock. The ABS system is making this more difficult than necessary. Now, the idea with a line lock is that one engages the brakes and then activating the line lock keeps the hydraulic pressure on the brakes until it is disengaged by preventing fluid from flowing back through the lines. I just need to make sure that when it is installed I am completely interrupting the circuit for the brakes I am hooking it up to. Need to make sure I don't miss any return lines or anything like that.

So my question is, does the fluid in the brake lines move freely through the ABS actuator? Pretty sure I know which lines are the inputs and which outputs from the actuator go to the front brakes.

The actuator ONLY affects the flow of fluid through it when the ABS system is actively braking, correct?

Just wanting to make absolutely sure. Thanks in advance.

Edit: There are two inputs into the actuator. Is one for one side of the vehicle and one for the other side, or is one for the front and one for the rear?

Install the line lock between the abs block and the wheels? Seems like that would be fine. Why are you putting line lock?

I don't know why that didn't occur to me. Got to fixated on figuring that thing out I guess.

Parking brake cable broke and long term I want disk brakes in the rear so it would be going away anyway.

Nice! I want discs in the rear too. I wish they had a kit with an e brake in it.. I've heard a manual line lock mounted on the floor or the transmission hump is best for an e brake. The electric ones can get hot if they're left on for more than a minute apparently

Yea, they are only for short term use. I only need something to hold the truck while I open/close gates, run into the house or shop for something. Just stuff like that. If I'm leaving the truck for extended periods it gets turned off and thrown in gear. I'm just tired of having to turn it off every time I have to get out quick if I'm not on a perfectly level surface.

The mechanical ones are better, but I didn't want to have to run brake lines into the cab. Just another pain to deal with. I should be able to get away with only having to buy a couple pre-flared and cut lengths of brake line from Autozone or NAPA if what I have in mind goes well. If this electronic one doesn't work so great I may have to surrender and deal with plumbing in a mechanical one.

The transfer case mounted parking brakes are awesome, but there is some God damn actuator on the back of our transfer cases prohibits that option.

Plus, if I plumb it for only the front brakes, I have tire roasting, panty dropping fun too. I have a set of bald Toyo M/T's that are just perfect for that glorious finale. :D
