ABS light illuminated this morning on my way to work. Pulled the codes tonight and they are:

34 - Left Rear Wheel Speed Sensor Signal Malfunction

48 - Open Circuit in Rear Differential Lock

Everything underneath looks normal at a quick glance, but am going to put the truck on a ramp this weekend and clean the affected sensor and trace the wiring to ensure all the connections are good. Brake fluid level is topped off to the max line.

    Anyone experience anything similar?

Are the four speed sensors interchangeable front left/right, front/rear? If I could swap the rear sensor for a front one, and the code changes - I'll know the sensor was the culprit.

Hitch and wiring, aux back-up light, rear strobe lights, radio and underseat sub.
Check to make sure the sensor hasn't moved from it's intended position, or it will not produce a signal.
Unplug the wires from the computer and sensor/diff and check for continuity in the sensor/diff.

Not sure if sensors are interchangable.

Sensors are interchancable from front to rear on the same sides (front left can be subsituted for rear left).

It was a very stormy weekend, the garage was full with no room for the truck, so I didn't dig any further into the problem. Upon starting the truck Monday morning to go to work, the light was no longer illuminated.

As the saying goes, If it ain't broke, don't fix it...
