Abs hiss sound

So I’ve notice today my abs module makes a hiss noise when I apply brakes. Engine on or off. Brakes work but makes me worried imma wreck due to brake failure

Do your brakes work as they should?
Do you have an ABS Light on the dash illuminated?
Do you have a vacuum booster ( it sounds like you do )?

If so it is normal.

 

Abs sensor? Is it your break booster going?

 

I have a vacuum booster. Works perfectly. It’s the module on the passenger side above the air cleaner. No abs light. Brakes are working fine.

 

No abs light. Sounds like a leak from the abs module above the air cleaner

 

What is it leaking? If there was a leak it would be obvious, there would be brake fluid everywhere. There are no vacuum lines going to the ABS.

 

You can completely disable the ABS System and all that will happen is the brakes will work like regular brakes with no ABS. ABS is a fail safe system. Now it is another story if you have a brake fluid leak.

 

It just makes a hiss sound. Seems to work fine just it’s a very noticeable sound. No leaking

Can you hear it in the cab while driving?

No ABS Light and the brakes are working normally, I wouldn't worry about it.

 

Sounds like a non-issue to me.
