Got in my truck this morning to come to work and the ABS light came on and stayed on. The manual says its ABS light "A" that says its not woking. Why does this usually come on? All i messed with was the rubber cover on the rear bleeder screw. Any info would be helpful.

Well after a little research, im going to start with some contact cleaner and some electrical grease on the sensors. My truck has been pulling a boat in and out of the water its whole life and we have had alot of rain here lateley. Maybe that will fix it. Any other ideas let me know.

Perhaps get a code reader to find out what code is stored and go from there? Lots of things can set an ABS light.

Well, seems as though my neighbor had just that thing, except it didnt pick up any codes. I disconected the positive battery cable thinking it may reset it after cleaning the speed sensors and flushing the system but it was still on. I usually here the ABS test when i get over 5mph after start up but since the light i dont here it anymore. Hope its not the solenoid.

It could be a lot of things. Save yourself a lot of time and effort and take it to a shop who can diagnose those problems. Even if you don't have them actually FIX it, you will know for sure what is wrong. Any other attempts can get VERY costly.

When I found out mine needed an actuator and that it was going to cost over $1,000 I decided to live with the light.

It's been like two years and I haven't had any issues stopping on dry or wet pavement. The ABS hardly ever kicked in before it stopped working because I almost never pushed hard enough to lock up the tires unless I wanted to.

Well i jumped the pins on the OBD and got a code of #49. That translates to open circuit stop light assy and or switch. I have replaced the third brake light bulbs and the stop/tailight bulbs w/LED bulbs. Could this make and open circuit.
