Ok guys gotta another issue I'm working on. The other day for the first time the abs light came on my 07 Tacoma. When it happened i was making a left turn and felt a slight vibration under the brake pedal as I was slowing down. We'll I jumped the OBD port and got a 32 code. So I reset and it went off. The next time out I made another kinda sharp left turn and it came on again. Then a little ways down the road it went off again and then eventually back on. So next I pulled the front left abs sensor and it had quite a bit of grease on the tip of it and the end seemed to be wore a bit ( as u can see in the picture). So I'm guessing I'll need a sensor but what would be causing this wear. I'd like to figure this out before buying a new one and have the same done to it. U guys ever faced anything like this?

It looks like the sensor is making contact with the tone ring inside of the hub. Have you checked the wheel bearings. Worn wheel bearings will cause the tone ring to wobble inside the hub, it could also have metal pieces inside from a bad bearing.

How did you reset your ABS light? I changed my wheel bearings and the light is still on

To reset the light take a jumper wire and jump port 4 and 13 of the OBD connection under your dash. When hooked up, turn your ignition on and the abs light should be flashing a code. Then turn off your ignition and pump the brake about 8 times about twice every second. Now turn on ignition again. If done correctly the abs light should now be flashing continuously like the other lights in the dash. Now turn off your switch, remove your jumper wire, and start the engine. Your abs light should now come on at start up for a like 3 seconds and go off.

JimmyH I haven't yet checked my wheel bearing. No vibration at all while driving nor can i feel any play with the front end jacked up. Guess I'd better though after seeing this. May not be something that can be felt i suppose

Is a jumper wire just any kind of wire? Where under my dash do I need to look for the OBD?

Yeah just any old wire you got laying around. The port is right under the steering column about right your left knee with a black cover over it that says OBD II. Just take that wire and jump the little terminals with it. Jump #4, which is the 4th from the left on the top row and # 13 which is the 5th from the left on the bottom row.

I would check wheel bearing also can you swap drivers abs sensor with the passengers side sensor?? But heavy side loads will make the bearing show its weakness.Double check wiring for the hell of it.My 2 cents.

Failing wheel bearing would also explain why it is getting covered with grease.

I just figured if it was the wheel bearing there would be a vibration or you could feel play in the wheel hub.????

Sometimes yes most time not.The aglinment between sensor and reluctor ring inside hub is very very close sometimes to close.Tripping the abs on the obd 2.

Ok. We'll guess I'll be jerking that hub assembly out and see what's going on in there. Don't really know of anything else to check at this point
