This is how I feel now about my 01 abs activating on summer hot roads going 10mph rolling through intersections. Think I’m going to disconnect it until I get the sensors looked at. I feel so uncomfortable and can’t trust my truck right now which sucks

 

It sounds more like you need to have the Traction Control Calibrated. See this thread Post # 11.

I never got to do that mod on my 2009. Somebody smashed into the truck and totaled it.
After that I replaced it with a nice lo-mile 2012, and have had none of the braking issues.

The only real complaint since is that the rear springs were still not the best.
Maybe they were improved, but the 2012 is also heavier and slower.
Or maybe I'm getting slower.

One in a blue moon, the AC kicks in hard and you feel a bump, but even that is rare on the 2012.

 

I fixed my ABS activating to easily on snow and ice. I flushed the brake fluid with AmsOil brake fluid, last time it snowed the brakes worked reasonably. I can't explain why this happened the brake fluid I drained looked OK, not dark and ugly.
I agree for me ABS is mostly useless, and significantly it vehicles with ABS do not have a lower accident rate than those without.

 

My '97 Bimmer has better ABS operation. Lol.

 

you have any stat's or references for that?

 

I just put new pads on the front and took it to a shop for a complete pressure flush. I gotta say, it's braking pretty well with all new fluid in it.
