The ABS on these trucks sucks for snow driving .

Foglights are for fog, not oncoming traffic!
Thank you for a coherent post.
The problem isn't the ABS, it's the tires/traction situation and people overestimating their and the car's abilities.
ABS is fine, lack of grip and expecting a different outcome is not.

Really? How come then if ABS is disabled truck has no issues stopping on the same surface even with Dunlops installed? Reason why ABS is changed in 2gen is due to the fact that ABS unit now also works as proportioning valve instead of old mechanical valve sitting on the back. Hence now ABS unit does whatever the heck it wants like sending all the breaking power to wrong wheels.

Maybe partially , but with even the slightest slip the ABS kicks in over and over , manually manipulating the braking pressure is better on snow if you know what you are doing .

I hate the ABS on my '05, but I really do not want to alter the braking system with some mod. Its bad for re-sale and insurance! Can you imagine trying to make a claim if they found out you frigged around with the braking system!?
When mine kicks in I can't even tell if its working properly...the pedal gets all hard and feels weird, and it makes an awful noise...I have to release and pump and pray I stop. Its not the tires either...I have good BFG AT/Ko's.

Toyota probably figured out with prerunner you not gonna be driving where there are slippery conditions.
And with 3.4 you not going have enough power to need ABS on asphalt

there are 2 ABS fuses in the fusebox under the hood. I removed both of mine which disables all ABS,traction control and vehicle stability control. I did this after driving in the summer on a very twisty mountain road with a BIG drop-off on one side. I was going around a corner to the right when the VSC was activated ( probably due to my lift) the truck applied the brake to the left front wheel and I almost went over the cliff ! I've had zero problems since removing the fuses, and the truck behaves better in the winter and seems to stop better as well.

I think I will do this as well , my VSC wants to put me into oncoming traffic on occasion too

    Then I probably wouldn't tell you :p

Many vehicles out there don't have these systems and they're NOT mandatory.

Utard is retarded, as with most of the folks from Utah that think their (greatest snow on earth" plates validates their snow driving skills. I go to school in Utah, but I grew up in Idaho.
Utah may have a few storms every year that drop snow on SLC, but it never stays on the roads for long because it's to warm and they salt the hell out of everything. These people don't know what it's like to drive on ice all the time. And when it really gets slick, they FAIL, just youtube some car accidents from the last storm they had. Southeast Idaho for example, can't afford salt, and never actually thaws so there is constant ice on the road. I learned to drive on ice 6 months of the year. ABS is a PIA. I don't need a computer algorithm to make decisions; it has no clue what conditions really are, where I'm at, the consequences of a wreck, and the precious cargo I may be carrying.

Anybody have a writeup on which fuses to pull?
