This would be the safest thing to do. The cops use skid marks to know how your where controlling your vehicle. It would not surprise me if they can tell if the ABS was working or not? If by chance someone caused an accident and killed someone I would bet they would investigate really thoroughly. If they found you popped out the fuses? Who knows what would happen?

Any policemen or insurance agents on here know the answer?

I am still going to go with if you are having problems then most likely you are driving to fast. No matter how big you THINK your sac is if its snowing you should cut your speed in half.

Workman KNOWS his sack is big, and doesn't have to think about it. Workman also knows that even though his sack his huge, he doesn't need to drive fast to prove that. Actually, he had no idea that a huge sack would make others drive faster. Only in Utah would people need to prove how big their sack is by driving crazy, not in Idaho where Workman is from. We just know its big and carry on....

There is a road near my house. 30 MPH speed limit. Left hand sweeping curve right before a stop sign. On the outside of the lane, where your right tires would be if driving in the center of the lane, are a couple slight dips.

If you are on the brakes before you roll over those dips with the right tires only, the truck will engage the ABS system. It will make it extremely hard to stop before the intersection. Every time.

By any on-looker at the dips in the lane, they look like an other small bumps in the road on an asphalt black top.

Only way to avoid having ABS cause an accident for me in that lane, was to shift over in the lane to avoid them.

Had a similar situation on another 4 way stop which was just a strait road. Rolled right into the middle of the intersection while my light was already red. Scared the piss out of me and my girlfriend. No bumps in the road or anything else that I could notice. ABS just kicked in, and i could not stop fast enough no matter how hard I pushed on the pedal.

The problem I see with the ABS on our trucks is that it is a sub par system, and doesn't pulse near fast enough. Thus causing the vehicle to travel farther instead of shorter.

This is what my friend does so that he can drift. Since he has the 90L reflash for the TRD S/C. Only way he is able to be below the set speed with wheel spin, and still be able to keep his wheels spinning, without the ECU closing the throttle body is to pull the fuse.

Take that Toyota reflash and accelerator pedal recall. :p

No money, all went to truck...
I totally agree with torspd. When your tire hits a bump and you are on the brake, the truck may sense a locking wheel because the tire might be off the ground for a split second and lock. Then ABS kicks in. This used to happen to me on my commute to work. THeres a hairpin turn thats downhill and it had a mean pothole. If you hit the pothole with your foot on the brake, my ABS always kicked on even though there was not threat of skidding. it was scary because I knew if I needed to stop for any reason, there was no way I could.

    ABS isn't perfect.

ever driven in snow with your taco? I think not since you are saying this...

I have ABS slide me into intersections when I was going below 5mph. since there was ice on the road my abs thought it would be a good idea to not stop...

    this^

I was actualy in Idaho where I had my first encounter with my taco's abs.
