Take it to an empty snow packed street and play with it seeing if you can get it to screw up. That way you can at least know what to expect. It's what I'm going to do as soon as we get snow on the ground.

Unfortunately. Dunplops. Looking to upgrade here soon. Got a few other toys for the truck. Damn engagement ring took most of my wad.

You are really making me worry about my damn tires. When I first heard people complaining my thoughts were sure they may not be great for off-roading and people just don't know how to drive in snow. You are actually worrying me about it now though haha.

Congrats. You overloaded a truck that weighs more and it didn't break. I've thrown a 1000 L pallet of 10-34 in a half ton before (3000 lbs of liquid, sloshing around weight). I couldn't smell the brakes unless I overused them and under utilized the transmission. One good bump and I would of snapped the axle.

I expect more out of you BlueT :).

So whens the new Diesel coming in?

I wonder if the stopping power people are seeing in these rear disc swaps are the fact that they are bleeding the brake system in their cars for the first time in 20 years..... just saying , it wasn't the sacrifice of the young maiden that kept the volcano from spewing today...

I mean really, I have 4 g body El Caminos which are the same thing as a Monte Carlo, and I've had one continuously for the past 30 years.. and I've never ever had a problem locking up the brakes. If the brakes are locked up, there isn't any more stopping power that can be had. I regularly autocross one of my Elc's too, the only thing I can say is that sometimes i wish I could put a proportioning valve on in my racing class so that the rears didn't lock up before the fronts. So I don't see how stopping power can be improved.

Maybe stopping power isn't the improvement that is being gained in a rear axle swap....wink wink.

I think I figured out why blew tee is always complaining about brakes; he is always riding his brake pedal and subsequently cooking his pads/shoes and brake fluid. No other reason I can think of for a simple trip of light trail riding to "smell" brakes. And "SHIRLEY" the smell "had" to come from the rear brakes, because a medical doctor with a computer program told him so...lol

I could see a difference maybe if you are towing a 5000 pound trailer without trailer brakes, but I have not noticed any lack of braking power in mine. Could lock them up if I hit the brakes hard enough. Does everyone here charge stop lights or what?

*lock them up as engage abs theoretically.

    rofl.....

O wait, I get it, it's a satire of the whole downshift thing right? Which costs more, brakes or clutch? Did I get the prize?

It's going to snow tomorrow. I'm going to rapidly switch my ABS on/off switch on and off when braking to see if that fixes my issue....
