ABS Pump Module Part Number?

Hi. I'm a new member.

I'm pretty sure the previous owner installed the wrong ABS pump module. Regardless, it's acting up and I've been told it needs to be replaced. I'm using it without the ABS but I'd really like to return it back to original. I'm having trouble finding a reputable authority on compatible parts numbers for my 2001 Tacoma 3.4L 2WD Extend Cab SR5 PreRunner with an automatic transmission. Can anyone point me towards a solid authority?

(Please note: I saw the thread from the guy with the same question for his 4x4. I'm not sure the ABS module is the same for my 2WD.)

As far as finding parts- I only use parts.toyota.com as the source of truth for part number look ups. I have found some inconsistency between the Toyota (company) parts catalog, and the dealership network / online warehouse catalogs. BUT I have always defaulted to the company part number and I haven't been shipped an incorrect part. Use your VIN number to select your vehicle, and then find your parts. The search is terrible, so I suggest you go through the categories/subcategories to find the diagram and part you're looking for.

I was able to find a few ABS "pump" Actuator assemblies in the catalog, so you'll need to match the diagrams up to what you have in your truck. However, it appears that the whole assembly is unavailable (according to parts.toyota.com) for my truck (2001 double can 3.4L 4WD TRD), and if you have a 6 lug 2wd (pre runner) then it's likely the same part (44050-04010). I found this in the Brakes and Suspension / BRAKE TUBE & CLAMP section.

The ABS units are a little tricky to diagnose, so before throwing out what you have you may want to consider a second opinion from another shop. There is also a good you tube video on pulling ABS codes if you search for "How to check ABS codes on 96-2002 Tacoma".
