I just know this is going to happen to me after my warranty is up.

It's a different part number, whether or not they're the same is another matter. I've ran into multiple part numbers for the literal same exact part but because it's a different application or different engine platform they change the number, such as the timing belt for a 3MZFE engine. Kills me man.

Same here, but it's an easy fix. Parts range from $35-$130 for the unit.

Pull a/c filter and you will see top of fan with cracked hub. Slide small hose clamp over end and tighten (saw a pic of this somewhere here).
Works fine. Clamp cost $1.49 and takes 10 minutes to install. Should hold up till Toyota supplies new fan.

Mine went out just over 3 weeks ago, and I still don't have it fixed.
Hell, it took over 2 weeks to get a loaner from the stealership too. I think I'll just keep racking up the miles on their loaner until deer season opens. If they haven't gotten the part in by then, I may grab the aftermarket part and do it myself. I doubt they would appreciate a trunk full of deer blood...

Are you running a leaf pack in the rear or AAL? And is the front adjusted to 2.5 inches?

My A/C blower also broke on my 95 but after 21 years of service. No Chinese or Taiwanese outsourced junk parts.Sticker says made in Japan on the door.

Was at the dealer this morning and sounds like the Taco's AC was repaired Saturday. Guess they made it happen since it's theirs to sell now.

Toyota corp called me today to report that more fans would be shipped sometime(?) soon. Same part, no improved design. I told them to keep their junk and I will buy an aftermarket part, fix it myself and never return for Toyota service.

Mine did this just last week. Dealer was able to replace it in about 30 minutes.

I found this thread looking for info on my new to me 2017 that had the blower die. I tried the blower at Oriellys listed for a 2016 and the mounting holes in the new unit don't line up with the mounts in the piece under the dash.
It's like a half inch or more off.
I ordered the four season unit mentioned here so we will see. Just tired of sitting in my own taint soup waiting on Toyota to get parts.

I noticed on my way to work this morning that my blower is making an audible whining sound. It's soft, but noticeable. Sounds sorta like the blower in my 98 Ranger that has 180k miles on it.

Considering my Taco is nearly brand new.. I'm guessing it's going to fail in the near future..

I glued mine and it's still holding up. I work at a collision shop so I just used some made to hold plastics together. It will probably outlast a new one anyways since they're stripping around the shaft.

Took mine in today to have the fan looked at. Last week it was squeaking like crazy. Of course, today, it stopped enough for them to not hear it. I'll just have to wait until next time.
