IF they can't decide if my noise is the right noise, then the dead motor will convince them, but they were already convinced by my in-truck phone convo during which I turned it on. The motor will fail.

I'm at dealership today for 20,000 mile service. Blower recall is due to several people's blowers have had the squirrel cage crack and falling apart. I've yet to have any issues, but will be replacing next visit.

Definitely not the sound I have. I'll have to take a look, but have 0 energy to do so. Too much crap going on right now, between life and both of my vehicles. I'll report back when I take a look. Thanks a bunch for posting all of that.

100% what mine sounded like, I have a 2017 with 43k miles and it happened 30mins into a 2week long trip working in south Florida, my shop did not have the part, nor did they want to give me a rental so i ended up spending a a ton to rent a big enough vehicle for all my gear but i got a 2018 grand cherokee trail hawk for 2 weeks, i went from no AC to AC in my seat!

Only way to find out is ask your dealership if your truck is on the list. It might depend on when your truck was made.

Unknown lift, maybe 2" I don't know how to ID it, and would rather set it back to stock.
The defined range and parameters of the Service Bulletin is included earlier in this thread. You will not be included with a Sept '18 build date w a 2019 Tacoma.

What is the difference if you wait until it breaks? Still under warranty right? Just hate the BS with dealership visit.

Mine still worked for awhile after I started hearing the noise, so the tsb/recall would have helped, but it failed while I was waiting for the part to come in. Maybe the tsb is just to let owners know that there might be a problem? :notsure:

My blower never had a problem but it only has 8k miles. I got the notice in the mail a week and a half ago and scheduled it for replacement this past Monday. Took about an hour and a half. No fuss. Being in Florida, I wanted it fixed before it breaks.

Yeah, those of us who have winters that last about a minute and summer for most of the rest of the year don't want to wait until our ac goes out in our homes or trucks if we can help it.

Well surprise, surprise!! I got my notice in the mail today. Happy times. Now I just need to figure out when it would be a good time to get this done, even though it was just a few months back mine was replaced with the original (known to be defective) part. I will have to contact my go-to service advisor and see if he'll order the part and schedule me.

Def get it done. My second one lasted about 12 months before it started making noise. Thankfully I was able to get the new one installed before it capped out a second time.

Weird thing is my 2017 VIN was not covered in this recall. They still changed it under warranty.

My blower got very noisy and weaker. I thought it had split at the hub, but it was fine. No cracks even. Happened at 10500 miles. It sounded like the fan was wobbling, even though visually it looked fine. The part says MADE IN CHINA. Not sure is that matters. The blower in my 1985 corolla still works fine lol.

Well @Burro09 quite likely it was replaced w the same, defective original part. Unless you happen to know otherwise......

Post up a photo of the service paperwork, and we can tell you one way or the other.

The had plenty of blowers in stock apparently. The new blowers seem to have a big yellow paint mark underneath. Idk if this is the new p/n. Its quiet for now20181105_173248.jpg
