Just called my local Toyota dealer to make a 30k appointment and there’s a new recall out for our ac blower motors. She said notices were going out this week. I had my blower motor replaced in Aug. on warranty and apparently this in a newer part. She said part will take about a week to come in and they will install during my service.

Hit up your local dealer to get yours installed !

They are doing yours twice? Toyota put out notice about it in August and their service people knew about the right part then- they replaced mine with the updated fan in August, too. Here is the right part number:

If you had it replaced with newer motor (design) post pictures so we know how it looks as heads up.

I found out about this today as well when I made an appointment for scheduled maintenance. Service rep guy said it's a two hour job but someone posted an invoice in another thread that indicated 40 minutes. Sounds like a small job, not a major tear down thing.

Will they replace this if you are out of warranty?

I would imagine yes since it’s a recall vs a warranty

Last winter my windshield didnt want to completely stay defrosted. I guess I know why now. Definitely will bring this up at my next service.

The blower tsb is for blower fans that split almost in half, I thought?

Dealer told me they had to keep the truck over night which I thought was bull shit since everyone is saying it takes under 30 min to do.

UPDATE: I took my truck in only to be told that I have a manual A/C and they only have the auto A/C parts in at this time. So I got out of there with a free/not free state inspection.

I'm due one last oil change under Toyota care before November. I will have them do it all at once between now and then.

I'm still thankful that the dealership told me about the issue. Since all of this I downloaded the Toyota app. It showed up on that as well.

ADVICE: know which A/C configuration is in your truck (auto vs manual A/C) and then make sure they have the stuff available.

Mine is an SR5 so I'm guessing that the SR and SR5 trim levels have the manual A/C and the trim levels above SR5 probably have the auto A/C.

Here's a souvenir momento from my trip to the dealership:

It is being called a Service Campaign, but even Toyota is crossing up the language:

My Sport has (thankfully) manual controls and is affected also.

I just logged in to Toyota > My Vehicle and says no open recalls. I thought this was for all vehicles or is it vin specific?

It hasn't been said if this is for all of them. What I linked above is all that I have seen. Once this progresses, we should see a published version.

Mine showed the recall. They are going to issue letters in September.

I thought the service campaign said the Automatic Climate Controls was not affected.

From what I remember reading on here was that most of the folks having trouble have ACC? They said that the noise or lack of airflow started when the full speed run up at start up happened?

I could be wrong, but that was giving me a bit of comfort since I've had mine on the max setting only a handful of times (manual a/c).
