Hi I hope someone can give me some advice. I had my truck at a dealership a week ago for the AC not cooling and they told me everything was shot due to metal contamination. They replaced the compressor, condenser, expansion valve, clutch assy, and evap core. The volume through the vents was fine just not blowing cold. Now the AC is blowing cold air through the floor vents on all settings hardly any volume at all out of panel vents. I have an appointment next week for them to check it but according to the Service Advisor this couldn't have been anything they did must be an actuator or blower motor. My truck was not doing this before they worked on it and removed the dash is it possible they did not re-install something correctly? Please advise

They mixed something up or didnt plug in the mode door actuator/servo. It's removed with the HVAC unit when replacing the evap core.

If the didn't plug the mode actuator back in, it could cause this issue.

They forgot to plug something back in. The fact the SA said it could be a blower motor shows that he’s a complete idiot.

So no other part could be the issue? Not the blower motor or the actuator? I'm sure I'm going to have a battle on my hands. This repair cost me $6000.00 parts and labor.

See the mode actuator is plugged in.
    It’s in the post above.

Not the blower motor. All it does is blow air, it can not determine what vents the air comes out of.

Can I access it to see if it is plugged in or does the dash have to be pulled out again? Sorry guys I don't know anything about working on cars.

I hope they did a hell of a lot more than just replace the evaporator.
    That's insane.

    Even so 6 grand!?

Even the stealership here wouldn't be half that.

I could see $2000 or so at the stealership but not 6, someone had a hell of a payday.

So when you fix at the dealer. There are 3 costs to parts. Online ( usually 30 percent of retail counter prices) counter prices what you pay at the parts counter. Shop parts cost. So that $400 dollar counter price for the compressor when put on thru the shop will increase by 60-75%. Crazy but that how it’s works. I recently was quoted about 2100 for some parts fixed thru the shop I bought them online for 1150.

I will check first thing in the morning my daughter has my truck at work. If it is not plugged in, is it just as simple as plugging it in where would it be if it is not plugged in there?

Yes. Plug it in and confirm everything works. Just take pics before so you can inform the dealer of their mistake.
