I have done a lot of research on here but havent got a real solid answer on this yet. I want to lift my 08' 4x4 AC roughly 2.75-3", I am planning on getting 5100s all around but what is stumping me is which OME coil (885 or 887) would be the best way to go to achieve the desired height? An aluminum front bumper might be in the near future but that is still up in the air. Thoughts and suggestions would be very helpful!

Anybody have any input? Wondering if the 887s with no weight up front will be too much lift...

I think with 887s and an aluminum bumper you would be right in that sweet spot you are lookin for. Without the bumper probably right at 3". I have a double cab with no additional weight and I'm right around 2.75" now. It will be higher when it's first installed, but mine has settled probably about a quarter inch since it was installed a month or so ago. That's just my opinion though. I don't have an access cab, but I can't imagine the weight difference up front is substantial enough to put you above 3" (except for maybe right after installation)

    4cyl or 6cyl?

I had 885s on my dcsb and loved the ride. Right about 2.5" lift. Added Demello plate bumper (120lbs) and still loved the ride but lost about .5" of lift. Swapped to 887s to get it back.

They're the same spring rate so if you want 3" I'd go with 887s. That will make aftermarket UCA a near definite though. Also if you're a 4cyl, I would stay away from 887s...

Stick to the 887s if you want roughly 3" of lift. I have an access cab v6 as well and I would have gone with those if I had known about them ahead of time, but I am happy with the eibach 2.5" springs I installed along with LR ucas yesterday.
