The dreaded AC compressor clutch squeal occurred when I turned on then AC. This was my 2010 Tacoma V6 with 240,000 km. A search of the forums lead to the probable cause being the AC clutch failure. I ordered a replacement from Amazon for $59 Canadian. The parts arrived in 2 days and looked to be very good quality.

I removed the skid plate. The 8mm pulley bolt came out easily after a quick spray of PB Blaster. I used slip joint pliers to hold the outer pulley cover from turning. The inner surface of the cover was heavily rusted. It had 3 shims for clearance. Getting the snap ring off was tricky and I used the 90* snap ring pliers. Using a belt tensioner wrench I removed the serpentine belt. Then the pulley wouldn't come off. Tapped it with a hammer, gentle prying and a shot of PB Baster worked!

However the snap ring on the magnet was too hard to access and my straight snap ring pliers weren't up to rhe task. I chanced it and left the factory magnet in place. Installed the new pulley and put the belt and skid plate back on. I
fired up the truck and tried the AC. It worked great!:bananadance:
