    Ok well im working on a 2001 4wd xtracab v6 3.4 Tacoma.

I pulled the evaporator box and all the dash out a few days ago chasing a coolant leak. My ac compressor had been making a horrible noise for like 18 months anyway so since I had to pull evap to get at the heater core I figured why not square that stuff away. New condenser, dryer, compressor, expansion valve, orings. Well I pull a vacuum, then try recharge the system through the yellow hose. And I low side and high pressure builds up to 120 but as far as I can tell my compressor never kicks on. The compressor clutch is plugged in. The pressure switch is plugged in too. The compressor came with 5 oz of oil pre installed, also I added the 1.4 oz of oil to the evap as the manual states.

    Any ideas?

I think you could narrow it down pretty quick with a multimeter. Check to make sure the switch is switching first, and if it is, start chasing down the compressor wiring.

I found it. The plug on the new compressor was not secured very well l, when unhooked it up the spade end pushed out. All charged up and ac blowing cold.
