AC compressor (or how the hell do you get to lower bolts)?

So im working on my 2015 Tacoma - Sadly my belt tensioner needs replacing and to get this part out, they built the truck artound it!

SO I need to get my A/C compressor loose to roll it out of the way to get top the bolts for the tensioner behind it. I have the alternator completely out already as well as the battery.

I go the upper 2 out, but the lower 2 are a PITA!

Any tips/tricks to get to these and remove easier ??? its 95* out this week so this should be more then fun.

Remove the drivers side wheel.
Go in through the wheel well?

 

GearWrench ratcheting wrenches, just don't back the bolts out too far where the wrench won't come off...

 

Yep remove drivers side tire support securely on jack stands.
Lots of extensions and a swivel. Take your time and you need to try several paths thru the suspension to get on them. Leave all AC lines connected.

 

There's room in the drivers side wheel well. Like @TnShooter said, remove the wheel and go through the strut tower.


Skip to about 2:59 and he'll show you how to get the lower bolts out. Its an earlier Gen2 but it should be the same for you.
